A Fresh Start with a New Contemporary Kitchen

A Fresh Start with a New Contemporary Kitchen
March 10th, 2020

When a Dallas family embarked on a house rebuild after their home was destroyed in a fire, new opportunities presented themselves to not only update to a more contemporary style, but to gain the storage and function they were missing before– especially in the kitchen.

Interior Designer Traci Connell, of Traci Connell Interiors, brought her clients to Bentwood of Dallas to meet with Kitchen Designer Emily Martin, There, Emily showed Traci and her clients beautiful ideas for a new Contemporary Kitchen. A combination of white painted and natural walnut cabinetry came together for a stunning new Kitchen design. Tall white cabinetry on the perimeter of the kitchen add to the contemporary design, and highlight the warmth of the premium walnut cooking area for a stunning combination.

Custom Island is the Perfect Gathering Place

natural wood cabinetry

This large beautiful island offers ample family seating. The custom walnut countertop with waterfall edge detail is a prominent design feature!

Not only is the island a perfect gathering place in the kitchen, but it allows for shallow storage on the seating side for additional seasonal items– out of the way until the time is right.

And finally, the custom walnut cabinetry that surrounds the range and hood features another modern component, tying together the contemporary design.

Make Way for the Wet Bar and Butler’s Pantry

Perfectly situated between the kitchen and the dining area is this functional (but oh, so handsome!) Butler’s Bar.

This area is great for mixing up a cocktail for the adults, or fetching a cool drink for the kids.  The integrated beverage cooler and ice maker are out of the main kitchen for optimal guest circulation. The additional counter space and sink, along with additional prep and landing space, make this a perfect place for entertaining.

We love the 3D tile and floating shelves with integrated lighting that support this contemporary style.

Furniture Grade Built in Display Storage

Brushed Stainless steel door fronts with lighted walnut interiors are a lovely way to display the homeowner’s crystal. Again, the natural walnut detail is the star of the show adding beauty and warmth to this clean, updated palette.

Making the Best of It

We love how well everything comes together in this streamlined, but very elegant contemporary White and Walnut kitchen. Truly, the blending of beauty and function at its finest. Having the courage to try a new style produced a lovely result from an unfortunate situation.  All we can say is ‘Well Done’ and ‘enjoy’!
