When Interior Designer Debra Moore stopped by the Bentwood of Chicago showroom at the Merchandise Mart and met Senior Kitchen Designer Steve Karp, she was impressed and quickly set up a client introduction meeting. Debra's special client project involved taking an existing penthouse located on the beautiful shores of Michigan and transforming it into an Empty Nester Sanctuary. After a successful design collaboration like this, all we can say is ‘WOW’.

This time, we're excited to have Stephanie Karp with Ingrid Baltasi, both from Bentwood of Chicago share their knowledge of cooking and experience in making great home-cooked meals. Let's dig in: Like many of you now, I am working from home today and for the foreseeable future. And since we have gained a couple of extra hours by not commuting, how could we spend that time? For me, the answer is always cooking. It’s my happy time. Making a homemade meal is very satisfying, and right now, this is something positive I can offer up. Best of all, pantry items are a great go-to for the home cook to get dinner on the table with ease!

So, whether you did a big shop to fill the pantry or have a plan to shop by need, there are some wonderful staples that most of us have in the pantry, freezer, or fridge. Soups, stews, and pasta dishes are the ultimate comfort food, and although Spring is on the way, there is still a little chill in the air. When a house fire destroyed a Dallas family home, a new opportunity emerged to change things up with a new contemporary style and to gain the function and storage they were missing, especially in the kitchen. Interior Designer Traci Connell, of Traci Connell Design, brought her clients to Bentwood of Dallas. There, they met with Kitchen Designer Emily Martin, who showed them the possibilities for a new Contemporary Kitchen. A combination of white and natural walnut cabinetry came together for a fresh new Kitchen design.  Upper glass fronts on the perimeter white cabinetry add to the contemporary design highlighting the warmth of premium walnut for a stunning combination.
